A Unix timestamp represents the number of seconds elapsed since January 1, 1970 (UTC). To convert a timestamp to a readable date, paste it above — the tool auto-detects seconds vs milliseconds. To convert a date back to a timestamp, switch to "Time → Timestamp" mode. Timestamps are timezone-independent, making them the standard format for APIs, databases, and log files.
